Samsung warns customers flash memory might be sold out.

Apple recently placed an order of 50 million 8GB flash chips to use on its iPhone 3G, reports Digitimes.

Samsung warned customers it might be in short supply due to this immense purchase. Apple and Samsung have been working together since 2005.

Doing the math, CNET reports the recent 50 million 8GB flash chips equates to 3 million 16GB iPhones or 6 million 8GB iPhones.

Not to mention, Apple ordered 25 million 8GB chips back in June. Apple said it hopes to sell 10 million iPhones this year.

For $199 and available in several countries worldwide, this plan is highly feasible.
